EARLY LIFE (0-6) [1975-1981]
Aaron was born to Myra and Martin Greenburg on December 3, 1985 in the Queens bough of New York City. He is an only child.
Being born an Army brat was never easy for Aaron. His father's career kept the family on the move, and his father was always away for long periods of time. He never was really able to feel that he belonged anywhere and friendships made lasted only as long as his father is stationed in any one place.
EDUCATION (7-12) [1982-1987]
It was not an easy life, being raised Jewish, yet the son of a career military officer. Loneliness would often leave him feeling alone and isolated. Needing to fill those empty periods of loneliness, he would become a voracious reader of just about anything he could get his hands on. Aaron especially liked the classics. He was an average student in high school, with his best subject being English.
TEEN (13-17) [1988-1992]
His memories of growing up were happy ones. Aaron was her pride and joy. His mother did work part time at the post child care center. She liked children. But she always wanted to be a grandmother.
Aaron’s father, however, had plans for him to be a career military officer like himself. Aaron decided to go to college and not in the Army, at least for now. It was sort rebellion against his father.
COLLAGE YEARS (18-21) [1993-1996]
Aaron finally decided to attend college out of state in New Jersey. He visited his mother has often as he could. He called her every day. He concentrated on his studies. He did very well. Aaron went to classes and lived in the dorm. His freshman year went very fast. This was when he first dabbed into homosexuality. He was curious and he liked it. Aaron believed that he had always been at least bisexual.
Aaron graduated as a teacher.
TEACHING AT NEW YORK UNIVERSITY(22-24) [1997-1999]
Aaron was always curious about dating men. He wanted to farther his experiences. Aaron enjoyed teaching at the university. He was well liked by his students and the other professors. Aaron always taught in interesting ways. Such as bringing literature to life with drama and plays. Students could see the story as well as read it.
Aaron was happy teaching but he wanted to give the Army a try. He would only give the Army four years. So he took a lave of absence (Sabbatical) he would have a job teaching after the Army. That way he would make his father happy as well.
JOINING THE ARMY (24-30) [1999-2005]
Aaron took an enlistment physical as well as the AFVAB test. He scored high enough to go in the Infantry. Aaron decided to attend OCS (Officer Candidate School)after 8 weeks of enlisted basic training. OCS was for 12 weeks at Ft. Benning, Georgia. OCS consisted of a physical fitness test. Aaron passed that test with a score of 300. The cut off score is 240-270.
The rest of the time consisted of academic training, field and tactical training, land navigation, and leadership skills. The last phase consisted of more physical training, peer evaluations and an interview before graduation.
Aaron graduated as a 2nd lieutenant in the Army.
+ INFANTRY SCHOOL
This was also in Ft. Benning, Georgia. It lasted for 8 weeks. The mission of the school is to educate, train, and inspire Infantry Lieutenants so that upon graduation, they demonstrate the competence, confidence, physical and mental toughness, and moral/ethical fiber necessary to lead platoons in any operational environment. Aaron graduated in the top 5% of his Infantry class.
+ STATIONED AT FT. HOOD, TEXAS
Aaron was stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas where he met, dated and fell in love with a Clinical Laboratory officer named Nicki. They dated and were together a lot, but in the back of his mind, he was still thinking about men.
GETTING MARRIED AND HAVING A SON (25-30) [2000-2005]
They got married in 1999 and a year later, their son Benjamin was born in 2000. Nicki got out of the Army when the baby was born. Aaron acted like he was happy, but he was getting more and more interested in men. Aaron was coming home later and later because he was seeing various men. This is when Aaron realized that he was not only bisexual, but he had homosexual wants and desires.
He never told Nicki about the way he felt. She suspected that Aaron might be seeing another women. She never dreamed that he was seeing other men. The marriage deteriorated rapidly and in 2003, Nicki asked Aaron for a divorce.
In 2004 their divorce was final. Nicki moved out and Aaron started dating only men. He was discharged from the Army in 2005. Aaron and 5 year old Benjamin moved back to New York.
Aaron and Benjamin enjoyed New York. Aaron was back to work at the University, and grandma Myra watched Benjamin when Aaron was in school. Aaron was only dating men and enjoying sex more now. Benjamin was a good boy, a bit lazy, but a good boy.
Aaron raised Benjamin with the help of his mother. He raised Ben a good Jewish boy. Aaron advanced at the university. He was a popular professor and his students liked him.
LIFE GOING DOWN HILL (2009-2014) [34-39]
Ben continued to be a good boy, until met and fall in with the wrong kind of boys. They taught Ben how to cheat, steal and lie. Ben even stole money from his father. Ben's bad behavior steadily got worse as he got older.
He started to skip school and his grades fell as a result.. He spent more and more time away from home and more time with his friends. Aaron was concerned about him. Aaron tried talking to Ben and even suggested that he might see a counselor and try to break away from the bad influences in his life. That only alienated Ben from Aaron even more.
Benjamin graduated to robbing convenience stores for cigarettes and alcohol for his older friends. Ben would talk back to his teachers on the rare occasions that he was actually in school. Ben told Aaron that he acted this way because nobody loved him like his mother did. Ben also accused Aaron of pushing his mother away because Aaron would rather be with other men.
Aaron tried to talk and explain to Ben, but Ben wouldn't give him a chance. Ben continued to spiral down hill. Benjamin vandalized one of his teacher's cars, he was caught and arrested. He was sentenced to a year in Juvenile hall. He was fourteen.
When Ben was released from Juvenile hall a year later, his parole officer told him and Aaron about the ranch in Black Mountain, NC. Aaron thought that the structured environment would be what Ben needed.
MOVING TO NORTH CAROLINA
Aaron and Benjamin moved to Black Mountain, NC. The next semester Aaron got a job at the Community college in Ashville. Aaron liked his job and Ben seemed to be settling down. Aaron just hoped that it would last.
